Trial guide

Getting started with UR Viewer.

Setup notes, format details, optional helper software, and common troubleshooting for the current Windows trial.

Download and install

Download UR Viewer

The current public trial is distributed as a Windows installer. Download and run the installer to add UR Viewer to Windows. This is an early trial build, not a finished version 1.0 release.

Supported formats

The trial supports PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT, HTML, CBZ, CBR, JPG, and PNG files. Support varies by format, and some workflows use optional local helper software.

PDF and EPUB

Open PDFs with page navigation, continuous or two-page layouts, and available Fill and Sign controls. EPUB reading includes display theme and font choices.

DOCX and conversion

DOCX files can open in HTML/Reflow View. Original-layout viewing and supported file-to-PDF conversion use LibreOffice when it is installed locally.

Comic archives

CBZ files are ZIP-based archives and may use 7-Zip for archive handling. CBR files are RAR-based and may require WinRAR or compatible RAR support.

Troubleshooting

A DOCX file loses its original layout

Install LibreOffice and use the Original Layout option. Without LibreOffice, UR Viewer uses HTML/Reflow View.

A CBR or CBZ file does not open

Confirm the archive is valid, then check for the relevant archive helper in Help > Diagnostics.

The viewer is black or blank

Enable Safe Display Mode, restart UR Viewer, and reopen the file.

A large file opens slowly

Very large PDFs, documents, and comic archives can take longer to process.
